Weight Loss Diet

Effective weight loss is all about 50% diet and 50% exercise. There are many fad diets doing their rounds but they will never be recommended by physicians or nutritionists. You might feel that this is too difficult and you would prefer just to go under the knife but remember, weight loss surgery is not always the answer.

A proper healthy balanced diet for obese people should include olive oil, spinach, fish, whole grain breads, brown rice, brown bread, pink grapefruit, different varieties of colored and green vegetables and fruits, fruit juices, 10-14 glasses of water, lean meat, lean protein, legumes and other fibrous food etc.

Replace 3 huge meals a day with well spaced out 5 small meals every day. Give a gap of 2 ½ to 3 hours between each small meal. This accelerates the body’s rate of metabolism and burns down calories faster.

You have to strictly abstain from red meat, clarified butter, butter, oily gravy spicy calorie laden food, fried food items like French fries and deep fried fritters, cakes, chocolates, pastries, cookies, sweets, junk food and aerated drinks and from snacking every now and then in between meals.

Sugar adds up to the empty calories. You may replace sugar with artificial sweeteners, but consult your doctor first. After waking up in the morning, drink one big glass of warm lime water mixed with a dash of honey on an empty stomach.

Warm water is supposed to melt fat, suppress your appetite and detoxify your system. Loads of water drunk at regular intervals will make your stomach feel filled. Instead of sipping on artificial beverages, try out green tea which is rich in antioxidants and can burn 78 calories per day.

Next, you have to incorporate fat burning food in your diet if you are really serious about losing weight. Citrus fruits which are rich in vitamin C possess properties which can liquefy or dilute fat.

Some citrus fruits and other beneficial fruits that you can try out are limes, tangerines, oranges, lemons as well as water melons, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cherries, apricots, and apples.

Along with these, make Probiotic fat free yoghurt and dessert items, fat free milk, garlic, broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, carrots, beet roots, leeks, shrimps, scallion, brinjal, turnips, beans, parsley, pea, and pumpkin a part of your diet. These are all fat burning food.

Fad diets have been popularized by Hollywood celebrities who are obsessed with their looks, waif thin fashion models and size 0 movie heroines. These gimmicky diets which are reported by fashion and lifestyle magazines are ruling the roost in tinselville. Please choose to stay healthy.

Marketing blitz and celebrity endorsements are what fad diets thrive on. No doctor would ever advise you to experiment with these diets for they are anything but healthy and achieve dramatic weight loss by concentrating on the consumption of only one kind of food, while cutting out other types of food completely.

People will do just about anything for a beautiful body. Some of these are ATKINS diet, SOUTH BEACH diet, MIAMI diet, DETOX diet, GENERAL MOTORS diet, SUBWAY diet, THE ZONE, RAW FOOD DIET etc. Remember there are healthier ways to lose 20 pounds.
